Breaking The Fourth Wall of Social Media Network Marketing

social media marketing wall

With new social networking sites popping up and burning out every day it can be a challenge just to break through the piles of pop ups and product links. Getting your message heard on the social networking scene is more difficult than ever but there are a few ways to make sure you get the most out of your advertising budget.

Know Your Audience

While there are some in the older demographics enjoying sites like Facebook, the audience mainly ranges the 10-25 age group (unless you count parents checking up on their kids). If you are trying to sell insurance you might be better off spending your advertising dollar elsewhere, however if your aim is to capture the youth market you just might be in the right place.

Use the Right Tools

Standing out from the crowd can be tough.

Pop-up ads are unreliable due to most web browsers coming with pop up blockers and your ad could just blend in with surveys, free giveaways, and Nigerian prince letters. A banner ad can make sure you get your message seen although most people just gaze past the advertisements on a page.

One of the more recent mediums springing up on social networking sites are applications that feature miniature games, pictures, surveys and other things. These take advantage of one thing younger demographics have more than others, free time. Just giving them something fun to do and subtly linking it to your website can be a great way to get your brand out there and make it memorable. You can spread the word on your new clothing line by making an application that lets them post their favorite outfits on Facebook.

Sponsoring an application on a social networking site that links to your main site and brand name to get your message out there on a level that will hook your demographic.
